Methodology

The score. Each candidate and government site gets one 0-to-10 Engagemii AI Visibility score: a rollup of on-page readability (structure, entity clarity, technical signals AI crawlers use) and off-page authority (news, references, links that carry weight). It reflects how findable and citable a site is to AI answer engines, the same methodology behind our research index of 40 million+ scored brands.

The coverage. The full dataset covers 4,198 filed 2026 federal candidates and 16,267 government sites; 11,032 of the government sites return a live, scoreable page today. The board shows the 1,120 candidates whose campaign website we could independently confirm, so every row is a real, verified match.

Strictly neutral. Both parties are scored by the identical method with no lean in either direction. Democrats average 4.4/10, Republicans 4.3/10, a statistical tie. A score measures whether AI can read a website, nothing about the candidate or their politics. Published under CC BY 4.0.
