How often does the meetup take place?

The Cloud Native Computing Meetup meets several times a year in Zürich. Where does the meetup take place?

Most events are hosted at the VSHN Tower, 8th floor, in Zürich. The venue is centrally located and easily reachable by public transport. Some events may take place at other locations in the Zürich region - the exact venue is always listed on the Meetup event page. We provide food and drinks at every event, and there is no admission fee.

What topics are covered at the meetup?

We cover the entire Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) ecosystem. Recent talks have included TLS hot reload, KubeVela and OAM, DevOps for AI with Kubeflow, and the Gateway API. Past topics include Kubernetes operators, Prometheus monitoring, Cilium networking, GitOps with Argo CD, service mesh architectures, and platform engineering. All talks focus on open-source projects and real production experience.

Who can attend the meetup?

Everyone is welcome - from students and junior developers to senior architects and SREs. There are no prerequisites, membership fees, or required experience. The meetup attracts engineers from startups, enterprises, and cloud providers across Switzerland. We currently have nearly 3 000 members on Meetup with a 4.6 out of 5 rating from over 330 reviews. All sessions are conducted in English.

How can I give a talk at the meetup?

We are always looking for speakers. If you have experience with a CNCF project, a Kubernetes deployment story, or an open-source tool, use the contact form below to propose a topic. Talk slots are typically 20 to 40 minutes. We welcome first-time speakers and are happy to help you prepare. Talks must be technical and non-commercial - no product demos or sales pitches.

Who organises the meetup?

The meetup is organised by VSHN – The DevOps Company, based in Zürich at Neugasse 10 (VSHNtower), CH-8005. VSHN has been running the Cloud Native Computing Meetup since 2017 and has hosted over 46 events. The organisers include Aarno Aukia and other VSHN team members. VSHN specialises in managed Kubernetes, OpenShift, and cloud-native operations on Swiss cloud providers including cloudscale.ch and Exoscale.

Is there a cost to attend?

No. The meetup is completely free to attend. There are no membership fees, ticket prices, or hidden costs. VSHN sponsors the venue, food, and drinks as a community service. Simply RSVP on Meetup to reserve your spot. Events typically accommodate 30 to 80 attendees, so signing up early is recommended. We operate on a CHF 0 budget for attendees - the only investment is your time.
