The future of the Tanami Road, along with 46 other crucial road projects in WA, is hanging in limbo as part of the Government’s disgraceful 90-day “infrastructure review”.
This means the future of these projects are now in doubt, a far cry from Premier McGowan's assertion earlier this month that "virtually all" WA projects would be untouched.
The fact that this road will not be fully sealed for another decade is a betrayal of Western Australians living across the Kimberley and will leave communities neglected!!">

This level of delay is simply unacceptable in this day and age, and it would not be tolerated anywhere else in the country! 😡
The WA Government was not only slow to act on the bridge, there are at least 8 other single lane bridges at risk of being washed away in future wet seasons, which sadly the WA Government is not addressing.
With the Albanese Government postponing the critically important Tanami Road sealing, the only alternative route to the Kimberley is over 5,000km long via Adelaide and Darwin 😳
The state of The Great Northern Highway is a national disgrace. It is time for West Australians to demand the entire Highway is built to withstand floods and the Tanami Road is delivered ASAP!">

This revolutionary facility will support oncology and neurological disease diagnostics and treatments, benefiting patients, while also expanding the manufacturing capacity of WA.
I was proud to turn the sod in 2022 and attend the launch 12 months later, representing the former Morrison Government who recognised the potential of Cyclowest, awarding them with $2.58 million of funding under the #modernmanufacturinginitiative.
I’m excited to see what the future holds for this incredible facility!">

This was the loud and clear message from local leaders in yesterday’s disaster resilience hearings with @senatorjacquilambie and @senator_davey.
I greatly admire the community’s remarkable resilience, their knowledge and love of country and their stoic reluctance to complain about conditions that would not be acceptable anywhere else in Australia today.
Thanks to all who shared your experiences and stories, we have listened and will act.">
Day one of the Kimberley Disaster Resilience heari
<img width="1000" height="560" decoding="async" src="https://www.lindareynolds.com.au/wp-content/plugins/instagram-feed/img/placeholder.png" alt="Day one of the Kimberley Disaster Resilience hearings in Kununarra was very confronting, but so important to hear. My thanks to all community leaders who appeared yesterday.
The first key message was the pressing issue of the appalling and vulnerable state of road, air and sea infrastructure. The condition and time repairs take would never be tolerated anywhere else in Australia. It was also clear the urgent Tanami Road upgrade is essential to East Kimberley communities as are the upgrades of the Wyndham port.
The second key message was the importance of social resilience to a community’s disaster resilience. The shocking social breakdown in Kununurra was laid bare with the shocking stories of the impact of grog on the community. We were shocked that the restrictions are one slab of beer per person or one bottle of spirits PER DAY!
We are in Fitzroy Crossing today for day two of hearings.">

They are concerned about the viability of their pharmacies, the impact on already scarce medication and on patient's health.
They have also expressed their deep apprehension over the lack of consultation in developing this policy. I encourage all Western Australians to chat with your local pharmacist to find out more.">

We are conducting hearing across Australia to hear from local communities on what works, what doesn't, and ideas on how to do it better.
Today we had the privilege of meeting with Fritz Bolten from Oasis Farms to learn about the incredible Ord River irrigation scheme. So grateful for the warm hospitality of Kalyn Fletcher, farmer and owner of the amazing Hoochery Distillery who kindly invited us to her home on the Ord River for Mother’s Day.
Both shared valuable insights on the local community's challenges and opportunities. We discussed issues ranging from the tragedy of youth crime and hunger, community violence, inadequate alcohol restrictions and the need for more resilient infrastructure.
Sunset at the world famous PumpHouse Kununurra and the bats and crocs were out! 🐊
Today is the first Kimberley hearing. Great to have @neilthomsonliberal join us, Neil has been tirelessly advocating for local communities.">

A Coalition Government will ban sports betting advertising for an hour each side of broadcasting.">
