Your AEO score measures whether AI search engines (ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini) can actually read your site and cite it in answers. Two-thirds of websites are invisible to them. Preprints.ai — Quality signal for preprints just got measured.
6/10 means Preprints.ai — Quality signal for preprints is somewhat visible. AI bots can read you, but you are missing the structured signals that would push citation rate above competitors.
With 10,000+ preprints posted weekly, Preprints.ai uses open source research integrity tools to score quality. AI-generated assessments help researchers, journalists, and LLMs distinguish signal from noise.

What is Preprints.ai?
Preprints.ai is an AI-powered quality control system for academic preprints. An eleven-agent panel (mixed Claude / local Ollama models including a positive-evidence reviewer) independently reviews preprints from bioRxiv, medRxiv, and arXiv, producing a 10-tier Publication Fit score anchored to real journal tiers (1 = Nature/Science calibre, 5 = PLOS One bar, 10 = not for publication). All assessments are machine-generated indicators that require human expert review.
How does Preprints.ai grade papers?
Each paper receives a two-axis grade: a letter A–E for evidence strength (A = exceptional, E = inadequate) and a number 1–10 for novelty (1 = Landmark, 5 = Important, 10 = Minimal; lower = more novel). The novelty number is percentile-binned across the corpus into a bell curve. A1 is the best possible grade, E10 the worst. An eleven-agent panel reviews each paper independently, then a deterministic lookup produces the evidence letter and the continuous novelty score that the 1–10 number ranks.
What preprint servers does Preprints.ai support?
Preprints.ai supports papers from bioRxiv, medRxiv, and arXiv. You can submit papers using a DOI, arXiv ID, or the full bioRxiv/medRxiv URL. The system automatically fetches metadata and full text when available.
Is Preprints.ai free to use?
Yes, Preprints.ai is free to use for individual assessments. There is also a free API tier for programmatic access. The platform is part of the Infinite Researchers programme, an open science initiative.
Does Preprints.ai replace peer review?
No. Preprints.ai provides machine-generated quality indicators as a first-pass filter. All assessments require human expert review and should not be treated as peer review. The platform assists but does not replace traditional peer review processes.
