We support schools in creating inclusive, health-conscious environments, and corporate partners can see Whizmeal as a meaningful avenue for CSR engagement — whether through sponsorships, programme design or ecosystem support.At our peak, we partnered with several primary schools across Singapore, including: New Town Primary School, Punggol Green Primary School, West Spring Primary School and Yuhua Primary School.In addition to being featured in both local and international media, Whizmeal is a proud recipient of the Best Social & Community Product (Silver), awarded by SGTech (formerly known as SiTF).
Our Founding Story - A Tapestry of ExperienceOur journey began in 2007, nestled in the heart of River Valley Road, within a private education institute serving a vibrant community of international students. From zi-char style meals and wholesome vegetable sets to gourmet Segafredo Zanetti coffee, our kitchen was a daily crossroads of cultures, conversations and culinary care. We catered not only to students and faculty, but also to professionals from neighbouring corporate offices — each interaction sharpening our understanding of service, quality, and evolving expectations.Behind the scenes, we navigated the realities of seasonal food costs, demographic shifts and operational constraints. Flooding in northern supply regions, for instance, taught us the importance of agility and foresight. Every challenge built resilience; every milestone deepened our humility.By 2011, we recognised the need for transformation. Transitioning from asset-heavy operations to an asset-light model, we began exploring innovation. A specialist diploma in franchise management at a local polytechnic sparked the idea of SmartFood — a response to the stagnation in school meal design. Could nutrition thrive within the constraints of school canteens? We believed it could.Our turning point came through the Founder Institute, where we immersed ourselves in a four-month accelerator programme. With mentorship and technology at the core, Whizmeal was born in 2012–2013. We proved our concept by reimagining canteen operations, delivering healthier meals to young families and their children — without displacing existing stallholders.Since then, we’ve partnered with primary schools in Singapore, working alongside nutritionists to introduce balanced, appealing meals. Our outreach has extended to childcare centres and community libraries, where we’ve facilitated workshops on childhood obesity, food supply chains and sustainable eating.
Challenges as CatalystsThe oil price crash in Brunei and the global disruption of COVID-19 were defining moments. These crises tested our resilience but also sharpened our purpose. Rather than retreat, we pivoted.We supported a 200-year-old Japanese tea company in exploring new sales channels, blending heritage with modern consumer engagement. We also partnered with a Nordic technology firm to assess indoor air quality opportunities — bridging health innovation with market relevance in Singapore (Southeast Asia).Each challenge became a catalyst for growth. These experiences deepened our strategic lens and expanded our role — from operators to consultants. Today, we advise founders and organisations across geographies — from the United States to Guatemala as well as Vietnam — on navigating complexity, unlocking new markets, and designing sustainable ecosystems.Our journey has never been linear. But it has always been intentional.
