Brand Entity

A brand entity is a brand or organization represented as a distinct, resolvable node in an AI or search knowledge base - with its own properties, relationships, and canonical identifier. Entity resolution is the process by which AI systems determine that multiple mentions of 'Your Brand', 'yourdomain.com', and '@yourbrand' all refer to the same real-world organization.

Why it matters for AEO

The cleaner your brand entity is, the more confidently AI models cite you. A well-resolved brand entity means AI models know your correct name, description, product category, location, founding date, and social profiles without ambiguity. Poorly resolved entities lead to wrong answers, competitor confusion, or simply being omitted from AI-generated recommendations.

How to implement

Build a clear brand entity by: (1) consistent Organization JSON-LD on every page; (2) sameAs links to all your social profiles and directories; (3) a Wikidata entry if your brand is notable; (4) Google Business Profile with complete, accurate information; (5) consistent brand name and description across all platforms; (6) press coverage from credible sources that mention your brand name consistently.
