Engagemii scores
Will AI recommend you? This is the number for it, and here is exactly what it does and does not say.
AI Naming Predictability is a number from 0 to 100 on every brand page in the Engagemii index. It says how likely AI engines such as ChatGPT, Claude and Meta AI are to name that company in their answers, placed against every other company in the index. 100 means AI names companies like this one; a low number means AI rarely does.
It is judged from the company's own website and web presence, nothing else. It is not a popularity vote and it is not a ranking of how good the company is. It is a read on how AI engines actually behave toward companies that look like this one.
When an AI engine answers a buying question, it does two separate things. It names companies in the answer itself: "for a used car, try CarMax or Carvana." And it may attach sources, links it leaned on, such as a Wikipedia entry, a Reddit thread or a news article.
In our daily checks, when an engine names a brand it links to the brand's own website about one time in ten. The other nine times it names the brand and credits someone else. The sites that get cited directly are mostly sources by nature: leagues, publishers, the press.
For a brand, being named is what matters. That is what this score is about. Being cited as a source is a different and much rarer event, and this score makes no claim about it.
AI engines name the companies the web already talks about. The strongest signal is how much the rest of the web links to and mentions a company. Company size, industry, the platform a site runs on and how much is on the site all count too.
Some of that is slow to change: size, years in business, being publicly traded. Some of it a company controls: what is on the site and how it is structured, whether products are published in a form machines can read, and whether other sites link to and talk about it. The AEO score on the same page measures the part you control.
News does not. We tested company announcements, market moves and world events against AI reading and naming and found no effect. Being crawled more does not raise the score either; the score is not built from traffic.
We built the score from the companies AI engines actually named in thousands of real questions, then tested it on companies it had never seen, including companies named later by questions it had never seen. The companies it put at the top were named far more often than the average company, and that held inside every industry we tested.
We keep checking it. Every day's answers are logged, so the score is re-measured against what AI engines go on to name.
If your number is high, AI already treats companies like yours as ones it recommends; the AEO score tells you whether your site is ready to be the one it picks. If your number is low, the page shows the parts you can fix. The score is on all 81 million brand pages and in the Engagemii dataset as the column aiNamingPredictability.
