Borderline visible. AI bots can crawl The 30-Day Saxophonist, but the structured-data signals are thin - you are at real risk of being skipped when buyers ask ChatGPT, Claude, or Perplexity for a recommendation.

"What to practise in your first thirty days on saxophone, in order: long tones, overtones, vibrato, and the twelve major scales." That is how The 30-Day Saxophonist Tone First, From the Throat introduces itself. When AI engines look at it, they find little to work with. It scores 4.9 out of 10.
Our crawl found structured data on the page (Article, Person, FAQPage), an llms.txt file for AI models and a sitemap.

Your AEO score measures whether AI search engines - ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini - can actually read your site and cite it in answers. Roughly two-thirds of sites are invisible to them. At 4.9/10, The 30-Day Saxophonist is crawlable but under-signaled - fixable, and the signals above are where to start.
What should a beginner saxophonist practise first?
Tone, before technique. Long tones and quiet playing come first, because everything built on top of an unformed sound has to be torn down and rebuilt later. Scales, articulation and speed follow once the sound is stable — not the other way round. This is the part students resist, because long tones are dull and scales feel like progress.
Where does the sound actually come from?
The throat and the back of the tongue — not the lip. The embouchure holds still. Posture, hands, jaw and teeth stay relaxed and unmoving; a little lower lip rests on the bottom teeth, with a slight smile. Everything expressive happens behind that, in the shape of the mouth and throat. The sensation to chase is singing "ee" and sliding your voice from a low note up to a high one.
Should vibrato come from the jaw or the throat?
The throat. The embouchure stays completely still — no jaw movement, ever, even on overtones. Jaw vibrato is easier to learn and far harder to control, and it fights the embouchure stability the rest of the instrument depends on. An even wave, roughly five per beat, is the target. It should be something you switch on deliberately, not something the sound does on its own.
Why all twelve major scales, and not just the comfortable ones?
Because a player who owns all twelve can hear their way through music they cannot read. Learning only the easy keys produces someone fluent in four and lost in eight — and the eight are where most interesting music lives. I learned all twelve as a teenager because my teacher insisted on it.
Is it better to practise slowly or quietly?
Both — but quietly is the one people skip. Playing very softly lets you continue far longer without tiring, exposes every flaw that volume papers over, and forces the throat to do work that air pressure would otherwise mask.
