Is strength training safe after 40?
We hear this question all the time and the honest answer is yes, when it’s done properly. In fact, strength training becomes more important as we age. It supports bone health, muscle mass, joint stability, and confidence in everyday life. The key isn’t avoiding strength training, it’s approaching it with the right structure, coaching, and progression. That’s where we come in.
I haven’t exercised in years. Where do I start?
You start exactly where you are. Most of our members don’t come from a fitness background; they come with busy lives, past injuries, or long breaks from exercise. We begin with a clear plan, simple movements, and a pace that builds confidence. No pressure, no intimidation just a structured path forward.
What if I’ve got injuries or ongoing pain?
You’re not alone and it doesn’t mean you can’t train. Our approach is built around working with your body, not against it. We adapt exercises, manage load carefully, and focus on what you can do. Many of our members arrive with back, knee, or shoulder concerns and leave stronger, more capable, and more confident in their bodies.
Do I need to fit before I join?
No and that’s a common misconception. Our job is to help you get fit, not expect you to arrive that way. Every programme is guided and adjusted to your current level, whether you’re returning after years away or starting for the first time.
Will I be pushed too hard?
You’ll be challenged, but in the right way. We don’t believe in exhausting people for the sake of it. Instead, we focus on the right dose of training, enough to create progress, without overwhelming your body. You’ll always understand the purpose behind what you’re doing and feel in control of your progress.
