Sourcebot

Sourcebot describes itself simply: "Sourcebot is a self-hosted code understanding tool. Ask questions about your codebase and get rich Markdown answers with inline citations." To AI engines like ChatGPT and Perplexity it is partially visible, scoring 5.2 out of 10, readable in places and missing in others.

The page falls short on a clearly stated business identity, sitemaps and entity links AI can follow, structured data describing the business, a heading structure that lays out what it offers, credibility markers like credentials or reviews and the technical files AI engines look for, such as llms.txt or an open robots.txt.

Away from its own site, other sites link to it and people discuss it in places AI engines read. There is some, but not much, sign that the domain is only lightly established. Beyond that, AI engines do not yet recognise it as a distinct business, there is no press coverage to draw on and it does not come up on Reddit. Those are earned elsewhere on the web, not fixed on the site itself.
