Major of configure-style checks are performed using check rules. A check rule accepts a set of shell scripts that perform project-specific checks on the host system. Check scripts reside in the .autark/ directory at the root of your project. Autark also provides several commonly used check scripts that you can copy and use it directly in your project or take as examples for writing your own checks.

Autark supports automatic generation of compile_commands.json compilation database. Just provide -k, --compile-commands option and all compile commands will be saved in ./autark-cache/compile-commands.json. Please note this option forces the full rebuild.

How to add a dependency on an external project and fetch it before the build?

It is recommended to keep the build logic for an external project in a separate file, for example extproject.autark, and include it from the main Autark script. This keeps the main build script easier to read and maintain.
