Authory describes itself simply: "Try the done-for-you portfolio builder that automatically backs up your bylines, podcasts, videos, and more. Test it for free." To AI engines like ChatGPT and Perplexity it is partially visible, scoring 6.7 out of 10, readable in places and missing in others.

On the page itself the strengths are clear: a clear heading structure and crawler access and the files AI engines look for. What holds it back is a clearly stated business identity, credibility markers like credentials or reviews, sitemaps and entity links AI can follow and structured data describing the business.

Away from its own site, other sites link to it, the domain reads as established and people discuss it in places AI engines read. There is some, but not much, sign that press coverage is thin and it barely surfaces on Reddit. Beyond that, AI engines do not yet recognise it as a distinct business.

AI crawlers have visited once in our tracking, including GPTBot (ChatGPT). The site links to no social profiles, so there is nothing tying the brand to a wider presence.
