What kind of reform do people actually want?

The standard account of Reform is still that it speaks for the poorest people, abandoned by everyone else, now taking their revenge through immigration politics. I do not think that is right. Reform is running through the entire country, or at least everyone except the very richest and the very poorest.

What have I actually learned in 18 months of heavy AI use?

Over the last 18 months or so, I’ve been building “vibe”-based projects with AI, across many models and approaches, as discussed on this blog.I’ve used it to write lots of code, some fiction, some technical books, and this blog. I’ve also been testing the limits with smut and other fringe content.

What does this already, and what’s next?

Already: anything where “close enough” is fine, variation is valuable, and the failure cost is low. Ads, thumbnails, product images, content marketing, basic design production, endless internal comms, low-stakes copy, generic visuals.Next: anywhere with huge volumes of repetitive drafting and checking, where nobody actually wants the work but everyone wants the outcome. Compliance paperwork. Procurement/RFP sludge.

A Right to Not Work?

Is it right-wing or left-wing to want people to have a right to NOT work if they just don’t want to?I heard a great position from a 1950s economist about how the unemployed are a positive effect of a flexible workplace/economy, that paying “welfare” is an inherent cost of changeable markets.
