At what point should you see a chiropractor?

Chiropractic is a safe and effective form of natural treatment for newborns, older adults, and everyone in between! There are many reasons why one may seek out chiropractic care such as for general health maintenance, rehabilitation following motor vehicle accidents, workplace, or acute injuries, or to treat chronic aches and pains. It all depends on your goals!

What does a chiropractor do on the first visit?

On the first visit, our chiropractors will go through your medical history and discuss any current or previous health concerns. A thorough evaluation will then be performed consisting of range of motion testing, reflexes, orthopedic tests, and an EMG-based backscan that detects areas of nerve interference.

How long does a chiropractic adjustment last?

A chiropractic visit at our clinic lasts between 5 and 10 minutes. As for how long the actual adjustments will last, this differs between individuals. When first starting care, it takes treatments that are closer together to work on correcting subluxations. The body is used to being in an improper position, so a bout of treatments is needed to prevent it from slipping back into a misaligned position.

How long does it take to realign your spine?

It typically takes around 2-6 years to correct a misalignment in the spine and get it back to the normal curvature. This is done through repeated treatments over time to work on retraining the spine to be in a better position - a similar concept as to why we wear braces on our teeth!
