What is a CPS test?

CPS stands for clicks per second. A CPS test measures how many times you can press your mouse button inside a fixed window — usually 1, 5, 10, 60 or 100 seconds — and divides the total by the time elapsed. The number matters most in games where each click is a discrete action. In Minecraft PvP before the 1.9 combat update, one click meant one attack, so a faster click rate meant more damage in the same window.

How to use this tool?

Pick a duration. Use the buttons above the timer — 1, 5, 10, 60 or 100 seconds. Five seconds is the usual benchmark; the longer runs measure endurance rather than peak speed. Press START TEST. A short Ready… Set… countdown runs before the clock starts, so you are not caught mid-motion. Click inside the box. Click as fast as you can until the timer reaches zero. Your click count and running CPS update as you go.

How to click faster?

Three techniques come up repeatedly among competitive players. All of them trade comfort and mouse lifespan for click rate. Jitter clicking: tensing your forearm so the muscle tremor drives your finger against the button. It reaches high rates but is difficult to control and uncomfortable to hold. Butterfly clicking: alternating two fingers on the same button, roughly doubling what one finger can manage.
