What is Creative State?

A Tulsa marketing and web development agency, founded in 1999. We build custom websites, brand identities, and AI-strategies for businesses that need their message to break through the noise. We are not a template shop. Every brand, every website, every strategy is developed for each client. The team has been doing this for 25+ years across more than 1,000 clients.

Who do you work with?

A wide mix. Industrial and energy companies, law firms, construction and home services, e-commerce brands, non-profits and some you would recognize like Taylor Swift and Garth Brooks. The common thread is that they care about how their message and their business show up to the world.

What makes you different from other agencies?

Three things. First, we look for relationships, not projects. Second, the founder is neither a designer nor a programmer. His background is on the business side. So we lead with what works for the business, not what looks cool in a portfolio. Third, we do not use template-based platforms like WordPress, Squarespace, or Wix. We custom build for each client instead of trying to fit each client into an existing template. That is not for everyone, and we will tell you if something off-the-shelf would be a better fit.

What does a project cost?

Unlike many companies like ours, we do not have a minimum budget requirement. We believe in identifying a first step that works for each client and then growing the relationship over time. We have worked on projects ranging from a few hundred dollars to well over $1,000,000. When comparing our pricing to other shops, you'll likely find that we are neither the most expensive nor the least expensive. Many of our custom website projects range between $5,000 and $10,000 all-in. Bigger custom builds with customer or employee portals, e-commerce, or a brand-from-scratch can be between $10,000 and $2

Are you only in Tulsa?

We are headquartered in Tulsa, but we work with clients across the country. Some of the people you would recognize on our client list have never even been to Oklahoma. Local clients represent the bulk of our portfolio because we like the relationships, but distance is not a barrier.

How long until my website is live?

Most projects range from 8 to 16 weeks from first conversation to launch. Smaller projects can be faster. Larger projects with custom integrations or e-commerce can take longer. You get a real timeline after the first conversation.

What is the first step?

A conversation. We don't do high-pressure sales tactics. We want to understand what your business is, what you are trying to build, and whether what we do is a fit. If we're not the right fit for what you're trying to do, we will tell you on the first call. If we are, we walk you through pricing, scope, and what working together actually looks like.
