DANCE MEDITATION TECHNIQUE

Is this a social dance?

No. This is a concentrated movement meditation. We never film or photograph class. It takes place in a dark, candlelit room. We emphasize the value of looking inward rather than watching each other dance.

Is this like Ecstatic Dance?

DMT is a 2hr concentrated meditation practice utilizing the principles of meditation but instead of sitting still we move a ton, instead of being quiet we practice being loud. The only thing DMT has in common with ED or others like it is that there is music and movement. Don't take my word for it, though, come to class and then go to other modalities and find out for yourself.

Is this a judgement free zone?

No, this is a good judgement support zone. You will never be asked to suspend your critical thinking. Anyone claiming a space to be ‘judgment free’ is lying.

What do I need to bring?

The people in your life who mean the most to you. Dress in comfy layers. Hydrate. You may want to bring a fresh shirt or a change of clothes. You can bring a yoga mat and blanket, or not.
