Borderline visible. AI bots can crawl Distributed Matter, but the structured-data signals are thin - you are at real risk of being skipped when buyers ask ChatGPT, Claude, or Perplexity for a recommendation.

from our crawl and measurement
"There is a summary of FOAF+SSL on the W3C Workshop on the Future of Social Networking website." That is how Distributed Matter introduces itself. To AI engines like ChatGPT and Perplexity, though, it is barely visible: it scores 4.1 out of 10.
Our crawl found a readable heading structure. It is missing structured data describing the business, an llms.txt file and a sitemap.

Your AEO score measures whether AI search engines - ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini - can actually read your site and cite it in answers. Roughly two-thirds of sites are invisible to them. At 4.1/10, Distributed Matter is crawlable but under-signaled - fixable, and the signals above are where to start.
How to model trust?
The hierarchical PKI model (X.509) is fairly simple to evaluate. The network of trust can be modelled as a tree, the root of which is the CA certificate; the chain is built between the leaf (the user certificate) to the root of the tree. This is also because CAs come with policies that specify which certificates intermediate CAs are allowed to sign so that the chain is valid.
How to revoke trust?
Problems with keys happen; we need to anticipate them. I think there are two main reasons for using Certificate Revocation Lists (CRLs) in the PKI world: the private key of a user has been lost or compromised, the user has done something bad and is no longer to be trusted. The first problem is a matter of propagating the revocation to whoever has the user in their FOAF file.
