What should I expect at my first session?

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know you and understand your goals. We'll discuss your history, current concerns, and what you hope to achieve in therapy. It's a warm, judgment-free conversation designed to help us create a personalized treatment plan.

What ages do you work with?

We work with children, adolescents, teens, young adults, and adults. Our team has specialized training across all age groups, with developmentally appropriate and evidence-based approaches for every stage of life.

What therapy approaches do you use?

Our team is trained in a wide range of evidence-based modalities including DBT, CBT, EMDR, ERP, Gottman Method, ACT, TF-CBT, and RO-DBT. Your therapist will tailor the approach to your unique needs and treatment goals.

Do you offer virtual sessions?

Yes, we offer both in-person sessions at our Alpharetta office — conveniently located for clients in Roswell, Milton, and Johns Creek — and secure telehealth appointments. Contact us to discuss which option works best for your situation.

What forms of payment do you accept? Do you take insurance?

DK Counseling Services is a private-pay practice and we are out-of-network with all insurance providers. We accept credit cards, debit cards, and HSA/FSA cards. If you have out-of-network benefits, we can provide a superbill — a detailed receipt you can submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. Many of our clients are able to receive partial reimbursement this way. We recommend contacting your insurance provider to understand your out-of-network mental health benefits.
