How does DoubleTick track email opens?

DoubleTick embeds an invisible 1x1 pixel image in your tracked emails. When the recipient opens the email, their email client fetches this pixel from our servers, logging the open event with timestamp and device information. No email content is read or stored.

Does DoubleTick add any footer or signature to my emails?

No. DoubleTick never adds footers, signatures, or watermarks to your emails. The tracking pixel is completely invisible — recipients cannot see it. This is a key differentiator from competitors like Mailtrack that add 'Sent with Mailtrack' footers.

Is DoubleTick free?

Yes. DoubleTick offers a free tier that includes 3 tracked emails per week, checkmarks in your sent folder, and desktop notifications — with no watermarks or footers. The Pro plan ($0.99/month) adds unlimited tracking and priority support.

What do the checkmarks mean in DoubleTick?

A gray single tick (✓) means your email has been tracked and sent but not yet opened. Blue double ticks (✓✓) mean the recipient has opened your email. This is the same convention used by WhatsApp and other messaging apps.

Does DoubleTick work on mobile?

DoubleTick detects opens across devices — desktop, mobile, and tablet. Mobile detection works well in most cases, though some email apps (notably Apple Mail with Privacy Protection) may occasionally cache images locally, which can prevent detection. This is rare but possible with any pixel-based tracker.

Is my email data safe with DoubleTick?

Yes. DoubleTick only stores the email subject and recipient address for tracked emails. No email body content is ever read, stored, or transmitted. Tracking data is visible only to you and is not shared with third parties.
