How much screen time does this add?

For the child, none by default — they write on paper. Somebody photographs the finished page, and that can be the teacher working through a stack at the end of the lesson. Older students can photograph their own work and read their own score, which is a minute a sheet.

We teach a particular handwriting style. Does that matter?

No, because the score is a comparison rather than a judgement against one correct alphabet. A course is built from model sheets, so a school that teaches its own style uploads its own models and every score is measured against those.

How is the score produced?

The photograph and the model sheet are compared by the Claude vision model, which returns a similarity score out of a hundred together with written notes on formation, spacing, slant and size. The score is a teaching signal rather than a grade — you decide what it is worth in your gradebook.

Do students need accounts or email addresses?

No. You type a roster of first names and print a card for each child carrying a six-digit code. That is the whole of a student identity here, which is also why there is so little to ask about in a privacy review.

Can one teacher try it without committing the school?

Yes, and it is the ordinary way in. A trial is arranged with us: we agree how many children and over how long, so that both sides know what it is meant to show. It commits the school to nothing beyond the trial itself, and the teacher running it does not have to go and ask anybody for a budget first.
