Is buying designer logos in your 40s confidence, or just paying to feel like you've made it?

I almost bought a logo-heavy belt this weekend and put it back. The brand-free version was half the price and looked nearly identical. The logo would have been the whole point but I couldn't say why out loud.

Is spending $400 a month on dog daycare reasonable, or quietly insane for a working couple with no kids?

We don't have children and the dog has separation anxiety. Daycare keeps him sane. My sister says we'd never spend that on her kids. She's not wrong. He's also not their kid. I'm at peace and broke about it.

Do you secretly check your ex's profile through a friend's account when you've blocked them?

I blocked her 4 months ago and I have a perfect record of not unblocking. But my roommate's account is right there when he leaves his phone unlocked. I check maybe once a week. He's never noticed.

Should we downsize at 69 while my husband and I are still healthy, or stay put until something forces it?

Our house has stairs and seven rooms we don't use. The market is hot. The kids are grown and gone. My husband loves the garden. Moving sounds exhausting. Not moving sounds like denial. Every conversation ends in shrugs.

Watched the national team last weekend with my husband. He fell asleep before the second half. We grew up on the 1982 winners. The new generation plays beautifully but I don't recognize the feeling anymore. Maybe I'm the problem.
