Depuis un demi-siècle maintenant,
la microfinance s’est imposée comme un instrument majeur de lutte contre la
pauvreté. Elle s’est aussi considérablement diversifiée, mais sa composante
entrepreneuriale est toujours fondamentale. Elle est au cœur de ce qui a
conduit I&P à s’associer à ACEP International et BIO pour construire ce qui
devient désormais un groupe panafricain de finance sociale.
La mission
d’I&P est en effet d’obtenir des résultats de développement durable sur le
continent africain à travers la promotion d’un entrepreneuriat responsable,
capable de créer des emplois décents, de fournir des services essentiels aux
populations, de promouvoir les femmes, et d’améliorer la qualité
environnementale du secteur productif, en consolidant la gouvernance tant des
entreprises que des sociétés où ces entrepreneurs prospèrent. Cette mission
commence auprès des plus petites entreprises, et jusque dans le secteur
informel. C’est la focalisation d’ACEP sur l’entrepreneuriat africain qui a conduit
I&P à accompagner sa naissance.
La constitution de la holding est le
passage nécessaire pour la génération d’une nouvelle dynamique de croissance,
elle-même porteuse d’impacts additionnels. Car, si ACEP Group a vocation à être
financièrement performante, son rôle fondamental est d’approfondir l’essor
entrepreneurial sur le continent africain, en finançant son expansion à la
base, pénétrant là où les acteurs traditionnels de la finance et de
l’investissement ne le peuvent pas. C’est aussi la responsabilisation
croissante de cet entrepreneuriat que recherche ACEP Group, au travers d’une
politique de responsabilité environnementale, sociale et de gouvernance (RSE)
renouvelée.
Véritable outil de développement, ACEP Group repose sur un
équilibre solide impact/risque/rentabilité. Il lui permettra de contribuer de
manière croissante à la résolution de l’enjeu démographique africain au travers
d’une activité durable sur le plan sociétal comme financier. C’est l’ambition
collective de ses actionnaires et le formidable défi de la nouvelle génération
de la vie d’ACEP.
For half a century now, microfinance has established itself as a major instrument in the fight against poverty. It has also changed considerably over the years, but its focus on entrepreneurship is still fundamental.
This focus on entrepreneurship is at the heart of what led I&P to join forces with ACEP International and BIO to build what has now become a pan-African social finance group.
I&P's mission is indeed to achieve sustainable development results on the African continent through the promotion of responsible entrepreneurship—capable of creating decent jobs, providing essential services to populations, promoting
gender equality, and improving the environmental quality of the productive sector—through strengthening the governance of both companies and societies where these entrepreneurs thrive. This mission begins with the smallest businesses and
extends to the informal sector. It is ACEP's focus on African entrepreneurship that led I&P to help it come into being.
The establishment of the holding company is the next necessary step for the creation of a new growth dynamic, which will itself bring additional impacts. For if ACEP Group aspires to be financially successful, its fundamental role is to
strengthen the entrepreneurial development on the African continent by financing its expansion at the grassroots level, penetrating where traditional finance and investment cannot. ACEP Group also seeks to foster this entrepreneurship’s
increasing accountability by way of renewed environmental, social and governance responsibility (ESG) policy.
ACEP Group is a genuine instrument for economic development and rests on a solid balance of impact/risk/profitability. This will enable it to make an increasing contribution to the resolution of the African demographic challenge through a
sustainable approach on both the societal and financial levels. This is the collective vision of ACEP Group’s shareholders and the great challenge to be met in this new phase of ACEP’s contribution to African entrepreneurship.
