What Are the Symptoms?

Early phase (days 1–5): fever, fatigue, severe muscle aches, headache, dizziness, chills, nausea. Late phase: coughing, shortness of breath, fluid accumulating in the lungs — which can progress rapidly to respiratory failure. Early hospitalisation significantly improves outcomes. There is no specific approved antiviral treatment; care is supportive.
