What is a form endpoint?

A form endpoint is a URL that accepts HTML form submissions on your behalf. Instead of writing server-side code, you point your form's action attribute to a HeroTofu endpoint and we handle the rest — storing submissions, sending notifications, and filtering spam.

Do I need backend code to use HeroTofu?

No. HeroTofu works with plain HTML forms. Just set the form action to your HeroTofu endpoint URL and you're done. It works with any static site, CMS, or JavaScript framework.

Is there a free plan?

Yes. The free plan lets you create form endpoints and receive submissions with email notifications. Paid plans start at $8.33/mo and add features like file uploads, submission routing, and higher limits.

How does spam protection work?

HeroTofu uses multiple layers of spam protection: built-in bot detection, honeypot fields, Akismet integration, and Google reCAPTCHA v3. You can enable any combination depending on your needs.

Which frameworks and site generators are supported?

HeroTofu works with any tool that can render an HTML form — React, Next.js, Vue, Gatsby, Hugo, Jekyll, WordPress, plain HTML, and more. If your site has a tag, it works with HeroTofu.

Are form submissions encrypted?

Yes. When the submissions archive is enabled, all data is encrypted at rest in our database. Submissions are only decrypted when you view them in the dashboard.

Can I send submissions to Slack or Zapier?

Yes. You can forward submissions to email, Slack, Zapier, webhooks, and more. Set up notifications in your endpoint settings — no code required.

Are there submission limits?

Each plan has a monthly submission limit. The free plan includes a generous allowance for small sites. Paid plans offer higher limits and you can upgrade at any time as your traffic grows.
