What is the Irish Locksmith Organisation?

The Irish Locksmith Organisation (ILO) is a trade association that represents professional locksmiths across Ireland. How do I know if a locksmith is certified?

ILO-certified locksmiths hold valid certification and licensing, meaning they have met industry standards and adhere to strict regulations. To verify, ask your locksmith for their ILO membership ID, which should be accompanied by a photo ID. You can also search our ILO Member Directory to confirm their credentials.

What should I do if I’m locked out of my home or car?

If you’re locked out, contact a certified locksmith, preferably an ILO member, to ensure reliable and safe service. Avoid attempting DIY methods, as these may damage locks. A professional locksmith has the tools and skills needed to help you regain access quickly and without harm to your property.

What types of services do locksmiths offer?

Locksmiths provide a range of services, including emergency lockouts, lock repairs and replacements, key cutting, safe installation, master key systems, and more. Auto locksmiths also specialise in vehicle access, key replacements, and ignition repairs.
