Is IntoDesign relevant worldwide?

Yes. We have members from across the globe and the majority of the training focuses on practical design skills, project workflows, client management and business principles that apply internationally as well as personalised guidance during the Q&A and mentorship sessions. Jo also works on projects around the world and continues to mentor designers from many different countries.

I don't have time for another course

Good. Neither do we! You don’t need more information, you need to know what to do next. IntoDesign helps you focus on the skills, actions and projects that move your career forward, rather than wasting time learning things you’ll never use! IntoDesign is not built around binge-watching lessons. It’s built around helping you take action. Whether you have thirty minutes a week or several hours, the goal is to keep moving forward. IntoDesign is designed to fit around real life. Focus on the skills, projects and next steps that matter to you right now, and ignore everything else

I'm worried I'll start and never finish

That’s a bit like worrying you’ll not finish a design career. IntoDesign grows with you. The things you need when you’re looking for your first client are very different from the things you’ll need when you’re running multiple projects. The goal isn’t to complete everything!

What if I don't have any clients yet?

That’s completely normal. Many members join before they’ve worked on their first project. IntoDesign helps you build the skills, experience and confidence to become ready for clients, while teaching you how to attract them when the time comes.

What if I don't have a portfolio?

You don’t need a portfolio to get your first projects. Many designers spend years waiting until they have the perfect website and portfolio before putting themselves out there. In reality, your skills, confidence and ability to solve problems matter far more. The portfolio can be built as you gain experience.

I'm self-taught. Is IntoDesign right for me?

Absolutely. IntoDesign was built on the belief that great designers come from all kinds of backgrounds. Whether you’re self-taught, university-trained or changing careers entirely, what matters most is building skills, gaining experience and learning how real projects work in practice.

I've studied interior design but still don't feel ready

This is one of the most common reasons people join. Education can teach you design, but confidence usually comes from experience. Through Studio Projects, mentoring and real-world examples, you’ll see how projects are actually delivered and start building confidence in your own abilities.

How do I know which projects I should be taking on?

The challenge isn’t usually choosing the project. It’s knowing how to run it properly. An e-design project, a room design, a full renovation and a luxury home all require different processes, deliverables, fees and levels of experience. Through the SML Project System, you’ll learn how different project types work and even follow real projects from start to finish inside Jo’s own studio.
