Why Do I Write These?
I choose to honor the principles that made the show a success, and connected us to the characters. After a number of seasons, viewers fell in love with the show, not because of the cases they were working, it was about the connection between the characters, and the feeling that 'family' was not just a word, it was a reality. The viewers wanted and needed that family concept.
Why Screenplay Style?
Bottom line, I could gripe and refuse to watch the show, or I could do something about it. I had written and published 3 novels, was known for character development and dialogue, so, I wrote a few NCIS plots and stories, screenplay style. I had just finished writing the screenplay for a short documentary and found it challenging.
