What qualifies as a lemon car?

Generally, a vehicle is considered a lemon when it has a defect covered by the manufacturer’s warranty that occurs within a time or mileage window set by your state and is not fixed after reasonable, repetitive repair attempts.

Are used cars covered under Lemon Law?

Most state Lemon Laws focus on new vehicles. However, if a used car is covered by an original, power-train, or extended manufacturer’s warranty and has repetitive repair issues, you may have rights under the federal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act.
