Machine Research is an AI-powered estimating and quoting platform built specifically for CNC and precision machine shops. It analyzes 3D CAD files using machine learning to generate accurate programming, setup, and run time estimates in seconds — helping shops respond to RFQs faster and quote more consistently.

How does Machine Research work?

You upload a part file, such as STEP, CATIA, SLDPRT, and others, and Machine Research’s ML engine analyzes the part geometry — evaluating volumes, surface areas, pockets, and complexity — to generate instant time and cost estimates. You review and adjust using your shop’s configured pricing templates, then send a professional quote directly from the platform.

How is Machine Research different from spreadsheet-based estimating?

Is Machine Research real AI, or just a formula?

Most estimating tools use a fixed equation — typically a material removal rate multiplied by volume plus a finishing rate — regardless of your shop’s actual performance.
