What is the difference between offline and online editing?

Offline editing involves using lower-resolution proxy files or copies of original footage to perform initial editing tasks. Online editing entails working with high-resolution files to finalize edits with detail-orientated changes.

Who is involved in post-production?

Colorists, foley artists, editors, sound engineers and other experts collaborate in post-production.

What equipment is needed for post-production?

Depending on the scope of the project, post-production uses various tools and equipment. The equipment can include specialized software like video editing suites, visual effects software and audio interfaces.

Can I rent video or film post-production equipment?

Motion Picture Enterprises offers graphic workstations, custom-built computers, HD VTRs and more post-production equipment to rent.

What is remote editorial?

Remote editorial is the process of editing, collaborating and completing post-production from a location other than the physical production studio or facility. This process requires using cloud-based storage, video conferencing, a high-speed internet connection and collaborative software for seamless collaboration and workflow.
