Borderline visible. AI bots can crawl NC Oyster, but the structured-data signals are thin - you are at real risk of being skipped when buyers ask ChatGPT, Claude, or Perplexity for a recommendation.

Your AEO score measures whether AI search engines - ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini - can actually read your site and cite it in answers. Roughly two-thirds of sites are invisible to them. At 3.9/10, NC Oyster is crawlable but under-signaled - fixable, and the signals above are where to start.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Oysters in North Carolina’s coastal waters have declined by an estimated 50-90 percent in the last 100 years due to overharvest, disease and polluted waters. According to available data, oyster harvest within the state has declined to about 15 to 20 percent of historic 1889 harvest levels, when 800,000 bushels of oysters — 5.6 million pounds of oyster meat — were harvested from North Carolina waters. OH, SHUCKS!
HOW DO WE FIX THE PROBLEM?
Recognizing the full range of benefits provided by oysters, North Carolina has worked to regulate the oyster harvest and enhance reef habitat. To create reefs, the many volunteers and organizations have deposits tens of thousands of bushels of oyster shells, marine limestone, and clam shells in shellfish waters throughout Carteret County.
