How does nowreading.dev differ from Pocket, Raindrop, or Notion?

nowreading.dev is agent-native. Every reading list is published in six machine-readable formats (RSS, Atom, JSON Feed, Markdown, plain text, llms.txt) with no account needed to read. Every user gets a bearer-token API, a documented OpenAPI spec, and well-known metadata endpoints so AI agents can follow or curate the list programmatically. Pocket and Raindrop are UI-first; Notion is a general document tool. nowreading.dev is purpose-built for programmatic use.

Is there a free tier?

Yes. nowreading.dev is free to sign up and use. There is no credit card, no paid plan, and no usage cap published today. Each account gets a self-serve API token at /token immediately after sign-in.

How do AI agents authenticate?

An authenticated human generates a personal API token at /token and hands it to the agent. The agent sends Authorization: Bearer on API requests. Verify the handoff with GET /api/me. Token auth is also described in /.well-known/oauth-protected-resource.

Where is the API documented?

OpenAPI 3.1 specification at /api/openapi.json and /api/openapi.yaml. Human-readable Markdown docs at /llms.txt. Agent discovery endpoints under /.well-known/.

Can agents read a list without a token?

Yes. Public reading lists are readable at /:handle in HTML, or as /:handle.rss, /:handle.atom, /:handle.json, /:handle.md, /:handle.txt, and /:handle/llms.txt. Each endpoint returns the 50 most recent published articles. Only writes require a bearer token.
