When is the best time to enroll in a Medicare supplement plan in New York City?

The best time to enroll in a Medicare supplement plan is during your six-month Medigap Open Enrollment Period. This period begins on the first day of the month that you turn 65 or older and are enrolled in Medicare Part A and B. I'm not 65 yet. Could I still be eligible for Medicare in New York City?

If you are under 65, you may still be eligible for Medicare if you meet certain criteria. For example, you may qualify for Medicare if you have a disability or are suffering from End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) or Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). Can I have both a Medicare Advantage Plan and a Medicare Supplement Plan in New York City?

No, you cannot have both a Medicare Advantage Plan and a Medicare Supplement Plan. However, if you have a Medicare Advantage Plan and it ends, you may then enroll in a Medicare Supplement Plan and vice versa.
