What this score means

Your AEO score measures whether AI search engines - ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini - can actually read your site and cite it in answers. Roughly two-thirds of sites are invisible to them. At 6.7/10, Quest Web has a working base to build on - fixable, and the signals above are where to start.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does Quest Designers actually do?

Quest is a full-service web development company in Kenya. We build four things and the connections between them: custom web apps (Laravel, Node), AI assistants (OpenAI, Claude, LangChain — including Swahili and WhatsApp), mobile apps (Flutter, React Native), and integrations (M-Pesa Daraja, WhatsApp Business, Stripe). Founded in 2014, 1,000+ clients, headquartered in Kikuyu (Nairobi). For visual website work specifically, see our web design page.

What's the difference between web design and web development at Quest?

Most clients use the terms interchangeably, but at Quest they refer to different teams. Web design is the visual, UX, and content layer — live on our web design service page. Web development is the engineering layer: custom code, APIs, databases, integrations, payment flows, and the AI/mobile/software systems sitting behind the website. Most Quest engagements involve both teams; you can hire either independently.

Are you hiring web developers in Kenya or building one project?

Both, though this page is about hiring Quest to build a project — we ship as a team, not as freelancers placed inside your company. If you're recruiting individual web developers in Kenya for your own payroll, we don't do that. If you need a Kenyan team to take a brief, scope it, design it, build it, ship it, and keep it running — that's our normal engagement. See the portfolio for examples and the pricing page for typical budgets.

Do you build AI chatbots and WhatsApp bots in Kenya?

Yes — this is one of the four pillars of Quest's work. We build AI chatbots on OpenAI, Claude and open-source LLMs, fluent in English and Swahili, integrated with WhatsApp Business API and M-Pesa Daraja for chat-driven payments. Common use cases: 24/7 customer support that hands off to a human, lead-qualification bots for property and finance, internal Q&A bots over a company's documents, and order-taking bots for retail. See our AI solutions page.

How much does custom web development cost in Kenya?

Indicative starting points: brochure/marketing sites from KES 78,000, e-commerce platforms from KES 100,000, custom web applications from KES 250,000, AI chatbots from KES 80,000, and mobile apps from KES 350,000. Most Quest engagements land between KES 120,000 and KES 1,500,000 depending on scope and integration count. Full breakdowns and what each tier includes live on the pricing page — or request a quote tailored to your project.

Do you build mobile apps for iOS and Android in Kenya?

Yes — we build mobile apps as Flutter (cross-platform, one codebase ships to both stores) or React Native. We've shipped delivery apps, sacco apps, on-demand service apps, and customer-facing companion apps to web platforms. App-store submission, signing keys, in-app purchase setup, and post-launch updates are all part of the engagement. Mobile project pricing typically starts at KES 350,000. More on mobile apps.

Can you build custom software, dashboards, and internal tools?

Yes — this is what most of our enterprise work is. CRMs, inventory systems, sacco management platforms, school management systems, real-estate listing portals, hospital management dashboards, ride-hailing dispatch systems. Everything is custom-coded (no SaaS lock-in), uses M-Pesa where money is involved, and ships with role-based access, audit logs, and ODPC-compliant data handling. Software development service page.

Why custom code instead of WordPress or a no-code builder?

WordPress and no-code builders are fine for brochure sites with no business logic. They become problems when you need M-Pesa integration that actually works under load, data residency on Kenyan servers, custom workflows your business actually uses, or a backend an AI agent can call. Quest's stack — Laravel, Node, Vue, React, Flutter — is mainstream tech your next developer will know. We don't lock you in; we just don't start with a tool that will fail in 18 months.
