Your AEO score measures whether AI search engines - ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini - can actually read your site and cite it in answers. Roughly two-thirds of sites are invisible to them. At 4.2/10, House Cleaning Is Simple - If You Follow Basic Housekeeping Principles is crawlable but under-signaled - fixable, and the signals above are where to start.
Fortnightly or Weekly Cleaner: What Actually Changes in a Two-Bed Flat With No Pets?
January 10, 2026 By Susan Montoya “We’re clean people, though.“ I hear it on about half the calls I take, usually in a slightly apologetic tone, as though tidiness might disqualify someone from hiring a cleaner. What people mean is that they suspect weekly is more than they need and they’d like permission to book fortnightly. Fine.
What Changes in the Second Week, and What Doesn’t?
Dust behaves predictably. It falls at a fairly steady rate, and a fortnight of it on a shelf is two weeks of it on a shelf. Nothing has changed except quantity, and quantity is easy. A cloth removes fourteen days of dust in the same stroke it removes seven. Everything wet behaves differently. Soap residue and hard water on a shower screen don’t accumulate, they bond. Day three is a film you can wipe with water.
Does a Fortnightly Clean Take Twice as Long?
No, and this is where people miscalculate the savings. A weekly maintenance clean in a two-bed of around 700 square feet takes two and a half hours once the cleaner knows the flat. The same flat on a fortnightly rota needs three and a quarter, sometimes three and a half.
Which Rooms Suffer, and Which Don’t Notice?
Bedrooms don’t notice. In a flat with no pets and shoes coming off at the door, a bedroom cleaned every fourteen days looks and smells the same as one cleaned every seven. Same for a living room without a dog on the sofa. Dust, a hoover, done. The bathroom notices.
Who Should Book Weekly Regardless?
Occupancy beats frequency every time, and a two-bed with no pets covers a wide range of lives. Two people out of the flat from eight until seven, eating out three nights a week, no children, no smoking: fortnightly, comfortably. Two people working from home full time, cooking twice a day, with a fabric sofa that gets sat on for eleven hours: weekly, and you’ll still feel it by day six.
