Borderline visible. AI bots can crawl Tech Job Advice, but the structured-data signals are thin - you are at real risk of being skipped when buyers ask ChatGPT, Claude, or Perplexity for a recommendation.

About Tech Job Advice

from our crawl and measurement

Tech Job Advice is a business whose own site puts it this way: "The Survival Guide for Technical Careers: Advice for a Long, Satisfying, and Prosperous career in Technology, from Industry Veterans who've done it." When AI engines look at it, they find little to work with. It scores 3.6 out of 10.

On its own pages the site does well on a clear heading structure. It is passable on a few credibility markers, basic crawler access and partial sitemap and link coverage. What holds it back is a clearly stated business identity and structured data describing the business.

Off the page there is only faint evidence that only a handful of sites link to it. Beyond that, the domain does not yet read as established, AI engines do not yet recognise it as a distinct business, there is no press coverage to draw on, nobody is discussing it where AI engines look and it does not come up on Reddit. None of that can be fixed on the page: it has to be earned.

AI crawlers have visited once in our tracking, including ClaudeBot (Anthropic). The site links to no social profiles, so there is nothing tying the brand to a wider presence. The business dates to 2023.

What this score means

Your AEO score measures whether AI search engines - ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini - can actually read your site and cite it in answers. Roughly two-thirds of sites are invisible to them. At 3.6/10, Tech Job Advice is crawlable but under-signaled - fixable, and the signals above are where to start.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why Create a Guide?

Courses to help you with your technical skills are abundant. And while they are certainly an important factor in your career, a person’s ability with the “softer skills” tends to contribute more to that person’s success. Unfortunately, these critical “life skills” aren’t taught very well, if at all, in our schools or in the work-place. The problem is ...

The Guide consists of the following modules: Career Management Self-Employment Job Search The content is drawn from my own experience and from the wisdom of other tech veterans (i.e. people with 20+ years of experience) who have enjoyed successful careers in technology themselves.

Who Is It For?

“The Survival Guide for Technical Careers” is aimed at anyone in a technical profession, from college grads, to techies with 10-30+ years of experience (yoe).

When Will It Be Available?

I’m aiming for Q2-2026. Unfortunately, I sorely underestimated how big this project would be and how much I’d have to learn, from how to produce broadcast-quality videos, to the new frameworks and technologies I selected to create the platform and app.
