What is a Berkey Water Filter?

Berkey Water Filter is a gravity-fed water filtration system that requires no electricity or plumbing. You pour water into the upper chamber and gravity pulls it through the Black Berkey Elements into the lower chamber, where it's stored ready for drinking.

How long does it take to set up a Berkey Water Filter?

A complete Berkey system can be set up in less than 10 minutes without any tools.

Does the Berkey Water Filter require electricity or plumbing?

No. Berkey systems are completely self-contained and gravity-fed.

What contaminants does the Berkey Water Filter remove?

Black Berkey Elements are independently tested to reduce over 200 contaminants, including lead, chlorine, fluoride, arsenic , mercury, pharmaceuticals, PFAS, VOCs, heavy metals, and more.

Does the Berkey filter remove fluoride?

The Black Berkey Elements alone can reduce fluoride significantly. For enhanced fluoride and arsenic reduction, the optional PF-2 Fluoride Reduction Filters can be added, removing up to 97% of fluoride for up to 1,000 gallons.

Does Berkey remove beneficial minerals from water?

No. Unlike reverse osmosis systems, Berkey filters are designed to remove harmful contaminants while preserving beneficial minerals like calcium and magnesium.

How much does it cost to filter water with a Berkey system?

How long do Black Berkey Elements last?

Each Black Berkey Element is rated for approximately 3,000 gallons. A standard set of two elements lasts approximately 6,000 gallons before replacement is recommended.
