What is an escape room like?

An escape room is like a real-life adventure game! You'll explore the environment and solve challenges to reach some goal, like escaping a dungeon or solving a murder! And you'll be doing all this with your friends and family as you race against the clock!

How much does an escape room cost?

The Escape Effect is as low as $35 an hour for our 2-hour escape room! The Escape Effect also has the best value per dollar anywhere on I-Drive in Orlando. We also have everyday special offers and even offer child prices as low as 25% off.

Is the escape game scary like the movies?

No, the Escape Effect is not scary, our goal is for you to have fun! Some of our escape rooms are brighter and more light-hearted, others are more thrilling.That said, if darkness is not your thing, please speak with us before or even during the game. Your host will do everything possible to accommodate your requests, including adjusting the lighting and sound to your liking.

How do I prepare for an escape room?

To prepare for an escape room, try to eat something energizing and make sure you are wearing comfortable clothes you can move around in. Be sure to get plenty of sleep the night before and do some stretches on the day of. Make a battle plan with your team so you can hit the ground running once the puzzles start.

Can I leave the escape room at anytime?

At The Escape Effect the door leading into your escape room is always unlocked. Step outside at any time to use the restroom or even answer a phone call.

What happens if I don’t escape an escape room?

At The Escape Effect, there are no consequences of failing to escape in time. Of course, we would never poke fun at you and instead, we’ll encourage you to come back and try again next time! Or if you prefer, we are happy to answer any questions you might have on the game.

Where are the escape rooms located?

The Escape Effect is located on International Drive in Orlando. We are conveniently located in the heart of Orlando, just south of SeaWorld. There's a map on our Contact page.

Is the escape room open after the parks close?

Yes, The Escape Effect is open after the theme parks close! Our last escape room each night typically starts around 9:30pm. On weekends and holidays, look for some rooms to start as late as 11pm. Please see our reservations page for a list of the most current times available.
