Ballast

Ballast is a business whose own site puts it this way: "A Chrome extension that helps you reduce consumption of adult content through usage tracking, analytics, and smart interventions." To AI engines like ChatGPT and Perplexity, though, it is barely visible: it scores 3.5 out of 10.

On the page itself the strengths are clear: a clear heading structure. What holds it back is structured data describing the business, a clearly stated business identity, sitemaps and entity links AI can follow, credibility markers like credentials or reviews and the technical files AI engines look for, such as llms.txt or an open robots.txt.

Off the page there is only faint evidence that only a handful of sites link to it and the domain is only lightly established.
