WordPress.org describes itself simply: "Open source software which you can use to easily create a beautiful website, blog, or app." Measured against the twelve signals AI engines rely on, it scores 7.1 out of 10, a strong showing.

On its own pages the site does well on a clear heading structure, a clearly stated business identity, crawler access and the files AI engines look for and sitemaps and entity links AI can follow. It is passable on some structured data. What holds it back is credibility markers like credentials or reviews.

Off the page, other sites link to it and the domain reads as established. There is some, but not much, sign that there is little discussion of it and it barely surfaces on Reddit. Beyond that, AI engines do not yet recognise it as a distinct business and there is no press coverage to draw on.

AI crawlers have visited once in our tracking, including ClaudeBot (Anthropic). It does link out to several social profiles, which helps engines tie the brand together.
