What does Capitol Commission actually do inside state capitols, and how is this different from political advocacy or lobbying?
Capitol Commission provides spiritual care—not political advocacy—inside state capitols. Our State Ministers meet with legislators and staff to pray with them, open Scripture, lead Bible studies, and offer confidential encouragement during the pressures of public service. They do not promote bills, take policy positions, or try to influence votes. Their role is entirely pastoral: to bring the hope and clarity of God’s Word into a place where leaders often feel isolated, burdened, and unsure whom they can trust.
Is Capitol Commission a political organization? Do you support parties, candidates, or policy positions?
No. Capitol Commission is not political, not partisan, and not involved in lobbying. We do not support parties, candidates, or legislative agendas. Our ministry exists to serve leaders spiritually—not politically—by offering prayer, biblical encouragement, and trustworthy pastoral care. State Ministers meet with Democrats, Republicans, and Independents alike because the gospel is for all. This nonpartisan posture allows leaders to speak freely, knowing we have no political goals and nothing to gain from their decisions.
How does spiritual discipleship in state capitols make a real difference in the direction of our nation?
Spiritual discipleship shapes our nation by shaping the hearts of the leaders who serve it. When lawmakers grow in faith, wisdom, and integrity, they bring those qualities into their public responsibilities. We disciple leaders from every background and viewpoint, because the gospel is for all people—not just those who share our convictions. Capitol Commission supports this transformation by opening God’s Word with leaders, praying with them, and walking beside them through the pressures of governing. Changed hearts influence how people lead—and that can bless entire communities.
Can ordinary Christians actually influence government without becoming political — and how does partnering with Capitol Commission help?
Yes. Christians can influence government biblically without entering political battles. Scripture calls believers to pray for leaders and support gospel ministry among them. By partnering with Capitol Commission, you help place trusted, qualified Christian ministers inside state capitols—locations most believers cannot reach. These ministers build relational trust with legislative leaders, open the Bible with them, and help them grow in their faith walk with Jesus. This approach has proven to point them to Christ in the middle of their work. Supporting this ministry allows you to make a real s
How does Capitol Commission ensure that State Ministers care for leaders with spiritual integrity, confidentiality, and a gospel-centered focus?
Capitol Commission selects and vets State Ministers through a process that ensures they serve through prayer, presence, and proclamation—not political persuasion or ideological agendas. Each minister must demonstrate biblical maturity, pastoral character, and theological clarity. They maintain a consistent presence inside the Capitol, provide confidential spiritual care, and teach the Bible faithfully through weekly studies and personal conversations. Because they have no political goals, leaders can speak openly and trust that conversations remain private. This gospel-centered, integrity-base
