Financial counseling is a free, confidential service—provided by certified experts—that helps you understand your financial situation, explore options for managing debt, and create a personalized plan to take control of your money.

Is financial counseling free?

Yes, most of our services, including credit and debt counseling, are free. Some specialized programs, like reverse mortgage or homebuyer assistance, may have a fee.

Do I need to make an appointment?

No appointment is needed to talk to a counselor by phone. Use the “Request a Call” form, or call us 844-477-6520 to talk to the Client Services team.

How long does a session take?

The first general counseling session takes about an hour, although it will depend on your unique situation and what you need to accomplish your goals.

What if I don't have time for a counseling session right now?

No problem! We can complete as much as you have time for, and finish up at a more convenient time. You can also schedule an appointment to be called when you will be available.

What do I need for my initial financial counseling session?

You don’t need to prepare anything in advance. Your first session is supportive and judgment-free. A certified counselor will review your finances, explore your goals, and start building a personalized budget. Will you keep my information confidential?
